Provides funds to help income eligible households that have income up to $129,000 to switch from home heating oil to electric heat pump.

The Government of PEI has finalized agreements with the Government of Canada to deliver the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA) benefits through the Free Net Zero Program. To apply, visit the the Free Net Zero program website for Epekwitk / PEI residents.

The fund is provided up to 5,000 and a one-time payment of $250 from Natural Resources Canada if assessed eligible.

The covered costs include:

  • Purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump
  • Electrical upgrades that are required for the new heat pump
  • Removal of the oil tank

Note: The funds details are different from the other provinces where the program is delivered from the Government of Canada.

Provides financial assistance for eligible applicants whose primary residence does not have access to high-speed internet (a 50Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload service). The funding covers one-time costs for internet service providers to complete work that enables access to new or improved internet service.

Approved applicants will receive financial assistance of up to $1,000 total, including a maximum of $350 (HST included) for installation by a registered business.

Note: Applicants must first receive pre-approval of the project prior to the start of any work, purchase of equipment, or any expenses being incurred for the project.
