Financial Assistance

Provides financial assistance for eligible applicants whose primary residence does not have access to high-speed internet (a 50Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload service). The funding covers one-time costs for internet service providers to complete work that enables access to new or improved internet service.

Approved applicants will receive financial assistance of up to $1,000 total, including a maximum of $350 (HST included) for installation by a registered business.

Eligibility:Full-time PEI residents who want to upgrade their internet service to their primary residence and one of following applies:
-The only available service is low speed internet (below 50 / 10 Mbps)
-Broadband service exists, but is unavailable at the residence due to obstruction of the signal
-No internet service is available -The property owner or leaseholder with the owner's approval

How to Access:Apply/Claim online * Applicants must first receive pre-approval of the project prior to the start of any work, purchase of equipment, or any expenses being incurred for the project * Approved applicants will receive an approval email with claim instructions
Documents Required:Residential civic address * Email address * Phone number * Speed test of current service * Current internet service provider and service (located on your internet bill), if applicable * A quote for the proposed project, on letterhead from an internet service provider including: Itemization of equipment for the proposed work, Breakdown of each cost, Total cost of the proposed project, and Expected internet service (internet speed)
