Issues trapping licenses to those who wish to trap furbearing wild animals in Epekwitk / PEI and have completed a Trapper Education Course. Information is available online about where trapping is permitted.

Offers a Trapper Education Course required to apply for a trapping license in Epekwitk / PEI.
Courses are offered twice per year, usually in April and October.

Offers Hunting Safety and Bow Hunting Safety courses to those who wish to hunt on Epekwitk / PEI. Courses include:

• A practical bow shooting test
• Firearms Safety Course

Issues licenses to legally hunt and snare wildlife in Epekwitk / PEI. Hunting migratory birds requires a federal licence.

Hunting season begins September 1st.

Issues burning permits for Category 2, 3 and 4 fires to those who wish to use outdoor fire pits/fireplaces or to dispose of grasses, brush, leaves or other woody debris during fire season (March 15th to November 15th).

Permits are not required for Category 1 fire (burning domestic brush) and campfires, but the fire restrictions must be checked each day prior to burning.

• Absorbent materials and clothing contaminated with human or animal blood, tissue or bodily fluids produced from medical or veterinary procedures in hospital, medical centres or clinic, or veterinary hospitals or clinics
• Body-piercing procedures in tattoo or body-piercing establishments

All drones or Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) weighing 250 grams or more must be registered. Drones under 250 grams do not require registration unless attachments increase their weight to 250 grams or more.
