Provides a variety of services to help veterans find a job and upgrade their skills and education. Includes:

Provides a 14-week career exploration and college preparation program for women and gender-diverse individuals. The program includes:
  • Exposure to trades and technology careers
  • Essential skills and provides career exploration and personal development
  • Opportunities with Holland College, training with the Construction Association of PEI, meet mentors, and tour with industry employers
  • Life skills and labor market research, resumes, interviews, math and team building
  • Includes all materials
Participants are able to keep income support and maintain Employment Insurance (EI) while enrolled in the program. Child care and travel subsidies (where applicable) are available.

Supports community members with education, skill-building, and other assistance to help them join the workforce. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning for employment
  • Budgeting
  • Job search
  • Communication
  • Determining readiness for employment
  • Assistance with accessing required education/training

  • Assistance with needed work clothing (Example: work boots)

Employment counsellors help newcomers to Canada prepare for job searching in PEI by sharing information about the Canadian job market and opportunities, identifying educational options, and explaining how to become licensed in a specific profession. Includes:
  • Providing information on employment and job search topics
  • Help developing a Canadian-style resume and cover letter
  • Teaching clients how to job search or find volunteer opportunities
  • Locating career skills building opportunities
  • Assistance applying for available wage subsidy programs
Services are offered out of Charlottetown and Summerside offices * Staff are available to visit clients living in rural locations as needed
