Note: Approved applicants must submit expenses that occur after their approval date. Retroactive expenses will not be eligible for reimbursement.
Provides non-medical support to anyone needing an abortion. Includes:
Navigating the medical system
Connecting with a doula who can accompany them to appointments
Transportation to and/or from the appointment
Finding a place to stay overnight if travel to Halifax or Moncton is required
After-care support, including a comfort package with a homemade rice heating pad, snacks (granola bars, fruit, tea), and a gift card to a local pharmacy
Provides peer support by connecting a participant with a volunteer peer, offering non-judgmental emotional and social support. This service is available regardless of the type of abortion or when it occurred.
