Overnight temporary accommodation for people needing emergency shelter. Also includes drop-in centres where people who are unhoused can spend time during the day and/or receive support.
An overnight emergency shelter located in Summerside serves women, trans, and non-binary individuals, as well as children who are temporarily unhoused due to various circumstances. Shelter stays are managed on a case-by-case basis and can last up to eight weeks without requiring individuals to leave.
For those needing longer-term support, the LifeHouse Transitional Housing Program is available. To apply, shelter users must stay for a minimum of four weeks before submitting an application. The Housing Committee will then review the case and make a decision. If accepted, individuals may stay in the transitional housing program for up to one year.
