Provides an overnight shelter for men who are experiencing homelessness. Case management services available.

Clients can stay for up to 21 nights. Extensions are available for those that participate in case management.

Transportation to the shelter may be able to be arranged if required.

Note: When wind chill temperatures reach -20°C or lower for two consecutive hours, the shelter opens at 4pm instead of 8pm.

Provides food hampers and children's toys to individuals and families with a self-identified need during the holiday season.

Families can register for toys and the food hamper.

Summerside:

  • Food hampers contain a full holiday meal with a turkey, fruit, vegetables, trimmings, milk, eggs, bread, juice, dessert, and breakfast
  • 12 years and under: one toy per child * 13-17 years (grade 12): receive a gift card
  • 2025 Registration dates: November 10th - December 5th
    • Mondays: November 10th, 17th, 24th, and December 1st
    • Fridays: November 14st, 21st, 28th, and December 5th

Charlottetown:

  • Food hampers contain a full holiday meal with a turkey or ham, vegetables, trimmings, milk, eggs, breakfast ingredients, dessert, and bread
  • 12 years and under: two toys per child * 13-17 years: gift card
  • 2025 Registration dates: October 20th-December 8th
    • Mondays: October 20th and 7th, November 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, December 1st and 7th
    • Wednesdays: October 22nd and 29th, November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, December 3rd and 8th
    • Saturday, November 22: 10am-2pm
  • 2025: Partnering with the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry

People in urgent need of overnight shelter can call the toll-free referral hotline. The intake line will work with callers to find a solution for shelter that best suits their needs and connect callers with resources for longer-term solutions. This number is also used to make reservations for Bedford MacDonald House and Park Street Emergency Shelter.

Transportation may be able to be arranged in some situations.

Provides 2-3 days worth of emergency food assistance.

Clients can access once every 30 days. Arrangements can be made to have a friend/family member pick-up the food if unable to get to the food bank.

Households earning below a set annual income may be eligible for financial assistance of up to $1200 per calendar year toward their home heating costs from oil, wood, wood pellets, propane or electrical heat.

Does not issue a rebate on heating that has already been ordered/paid. Program only pays for heating arranged by the Salvation Army.
