Volunteer Companion Program Provided by: Alzheimer Society of PEI
Volunteers provide weekly companionship to persons living with dementia who are still living in their home while providing respite for care givers and family members.

A respite cottage for individuals coping with the effects of life threatening illness or compassion fatigue. Cottage is designed with accessibility in mind. Details include:
- A living room with a fireplace
- A dining area with a fully equipped kitchen
- A washer and a dryer
- Total of five beds are equipped including a single hospital bed
- A wheelchair accessible washroom with a shower
- Linens and towels are provided, but personal toiletries are required

Respite Care Provided by: Hospice of Southern Kings County
Provides respite for individuals and families experiencing an end-of-life journey. Trained volunteers visit with clients where they live (home, hospital, nursing/community care home). Volunteers are there to listen, read aloud, chat, or just be quietly present with the individual who is ill and to provide a break to the caregiver. Support can also continue into the grieving process after death. Volunteers do not provide personal care, medication administration or overnight respite services.

Remote Patient Monitoring Program Provided by: Health PEI
Provides a free at-home monitoring program for PEI residents living with heart failure or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Patients will receive monitoring equipment that will send vital signs directly to an RPM nurse.

Provides in-home and inpatient services to assist people experiencing a progressive life threatening illness and their families. Includes:
- Medical, nursing and professional care
- Assistance understanding your illness and treatment options
- Helping you learn to express your wishes and personal goals and help you to achieve these goals
- Pain and symptom management
- Respite care for families/caregivers
- Advance care planning
- Ongoing bereavement support for families

Overnight Respite Provided by: Community Connections
Provides two options for respite beds in Summerside.
Highland Avenue: An unsupervised respite apartment can be rented. Renter is responsible for arranging any care required during the stay.

Medical Assistance in Dying Provided by: Health PEI
Provides professional medical assistance to people experiencing specific types of untreatable or irreversible medical conditions who wish to voluntarily and intentionally end their lives by administering a lethal dose of medication or prescribing medication for the patient to end their life through self-medication.
Note: There is a screening and assessment process to ensure awareness of other options, meeting of the criteria for medical assistance in dying and are capability of making this important decision.
