Financial counsellors provide advice on reducing or eliminating debts over the phone by giving people the tools to successfully manage their finances. Counsellors help clients:

  • Get out of debt
  • Avoid bankruptcy
  • Improve money management skills
  • Eliminate credit card debts
  • Negotiate reduced payment and interest terms with creditors
  • Draft alternative payment plans
  • Planning and maintaining a budget
  • Variety of financial education services

Free tax clinics are available during the tax season. Volunteers prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and a simple tax situation.

Clinics are held at locations across Epekwitk / PEI and tend to run late February to late April.
