Programs providing alternative living arrangements for people who need support in daily activities of living due to age, disability, substance abuse, mental illness, chronic homelessness or other circumstances. Also includes services that help people with specific needs find stable housing in the community.

Compensation is established through the province's Financial Assistance Program and the AccessAbility Supports Program according to their eligibility and rates.

The Housing Navigators make referrals and help individuals to access the right resources by assessing the risks associated with an individual's housing circumstances. Includes:

  • Providing an overview of programs related to housing in Epekwitk / PEI
  • Assisting with applications for Family Housing Program and Seniors Housing Programs
  • Making referrals to, and helping in accessing, community resources
  • Developing case planning and management for complex clients
  • Connecting clients and landlords
  • Accessing settlement services for immigrants and refugees
  • Following up to ensure clients getting the help they need
  • Finding mental health resources that may prevent clients from accessing housing

Helps people with intellectual disabilities find suitable, independent housing and help to navigate and connect to key community resources.

Fully equipped housing complex with seven units that provide supervised support for high functioning adults with intellectual disabilities.

Units are shared between two tenants and have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and kitchenette. There is a shared full kitchen, common dining area and living room. Tenants share chores such as meal planning, cooking and cleaning up.

Person-Centered Plans provide life skills and employment training and residents are supported to allow for an independent, secure lifestyle.
