Classes and programs for people who want to learn or improve their skills in another language.

Offers a variety of reading and writing braille courses via correspondence. Course material in print or braille is provided in hardcopy or via download. Students work at their own pace. Examples of courses includes:
  • Reading and writing contracted and uncontracted braille
  • UEB (Unified English Braille) technical
  • Update to UEB
  • UEB transcription course
  • Music braille course
  • Mathematics braille course

Provides Mi'kmaq language instruction and drumming classes from beginner to intermediate levels.

Classes are primarily offered in Mi'kmaq, speakers of other Indigenous languages are invited to participate by sharing their language during classes.

Free English tutoring service is provided in partnership with the public library service across Epekwitk / PEI. Volunteers help adult newcomers practice English. School-aged children have access to EAL tutoring within the school system.

Participants learn and practice the Mi'kmaq language in a social environment while enjoying a meal prepared by staff.

Helps military families integrate into new surroundings by offering second language online training where the primary language is unfamiliar to the family. Includes:

  • Language Research Development Group (LRDG) second language training for English and French is available for Self-Directed Learning.
  • Rosetta Stone Language Learning Program makes learning a new language easy with core lessons that cover reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, grammar, and vocabulary.
