A trained social worker can offer counselling in areas such as:

  • Marriage/couple
  • Depression/anxiety disorder treatment and recovery
  • Adjustment to life transitions
  • Self-Esteem and communication skills for successful relationships
  • Childhood anxieties and attention difficulties
  • Blended families, divorce/separation, and support for children

Short-term child care to bridge the gap between having no child care provider and having a regular child care provider.

Counsellors provide confidential phone support to loved ones of Canadian Armed Forces (CF) members who are in need of support due to the unique nature of military life. Counsellors can help families:
  • Obtain information
  • Provide reassurance and support
  • Referrals to services offered to CF families

Provides families with a bridge pass and/or $ 25 gas card for trips to Moncton and $50 gas card for trips to Halifax, Saint John, or beyond to assist with transportation for medical purposes.

Note: Applications must be submitted early enough to allow time for approval in advance of the travel.

Provides bursaries to eligible members of PEI MFRC community. Total of two bursaries of $500 will be offered and a successful applicant will be eligible for one bursary.

Helps military families integrate into new surroundings by offering second language online training where the primary language is unfamiliar to the family. Includes:

  • Language Research Development Group (LRDG) second language training for English and French is available for Self-Directed Learning.
  • Rosetta Stone Language Learning Program makes learning a new language easy with core lessons that cover reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, grammar, and vocabulary.
