Provides outreach, advocacy and follow-up services that address the social and emotional needs of BIPOC individuals on PEI. This is provided through:

  • Assessment of needs
  • Support
  • Connecting to resources
  • Advocacy
  • System navigation
  • Assistance with filling out forms
  • Accompaniment to meetings
  • Other needs as they arise
  • Identification of system gaps and engaging the community to fill those gaps


Navigation and advocacy support is available around issues of:

  • Justice
  • Education
  • Health care
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Discrimination

Provides shelter accommodation for women in Epekwitk / PEI. Residents have access to:

  • Employment services
  • Parenting programs
  • Life skills programs
  • Services of the Lennox Island Health Centre
  • A safe and supportive housing environment

Emergency stays at the shelter can be up to six weeks. Indigenous women who have left a violent relationship or who find themselves in a homeless situation can apply and be assessed for a one year stay at the shelter.

Transportation can be arranged.

Supports off-reserve Indigenous people who are experiencing home insecurity or who are facing the imminent threat of homelessness due to temporary and unexpected housing situations. Supports include:

  • Front-line support
  • Referrals
  • Housing placements
  • Access to culturally relevant activities to promote self-sufficiency and involvement in the NCPEI community

Overnight Summerside men's shelter that may provide short and long-term stay. Services include:
  • Beds
  • Food and drink
  • Access to laundry and hygiene products
  • Storage for belongings
  • Local transportation may be available (call for details)
  • Transition services such as job search, introduction to other community supports etc.
