Provides speech language pathology services for adults who are experiencing:
  • Voice disorders
  • Neurological conditions (for example: Parkinson's, ALS)
  • Stuttering
  • Cognitive communication (for example: brain injury, dementia)
  • Augmentative or alternative communication
  • Gender-affirming voice and communication services

Provides assistance to preschool aged children who need help developing speech and language abilities. Includes:
  • Consultation
  • Screening and assessment
  • Treatment
  • Workshops
  • Community visits
  • Caregiver training

Receives and responds to compliments and complaints from users of PEI's health care system. Submissions can be made online, by phone, or by mail.

Provides a free at-home monitoring program for PEI residents living with heart failure or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Patients will receive monitoring equipment that will send vital signs directly to an RPM nurse.

Program helps patients to:
  • Learn to manage their chronic disease from the comfort of home
  • Avoid unnecessary trips to the hospital
  • Catch problems before they become an emergency
  • Become more involved in managing their health and quality of life

Provides cost assistance for travel and accommodation to eligible people who have to travel outside the Maritimes (PEI, NBk, and NS) for transplant surgery.

  • Travel: By reimbursement only. Applicants can claim up to $1,500 every six months for one round-trip by car or economy plane, bus or train ticket.
  • Accommodation: Applicants may be eligible for $2,500 per month to assist with accommodation costs. Utilities and other living expenses are not eligible.
