Recreation Subsidy Provided by: Brackley, Rural Municipality of - AKA: Rural Municipality of Brackley

Subsidy available to help offset the cost of a child's participation in a physical recreation activity. Maximum subsidy is $150 per child or 50% of the registration fee, whichever is the lesser of the two, to a maximum of $300 per family, all per year.

Pole Borrowing Program Provided by: Alzheimer Society of PEI

10 sets of walking poles are available to borrow in four-week increments with possible extension. Availability is managed on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of one set of poles per person.

KidSport Provided by: KidSport

Helps families who face financial barriers to their children participating in sports by providing grants of up to $600 per child per year.

Grants may be applied to more than one sport and to required equipment. There is no limit to the number of children who may receive a grant within one family. Sport activities must be affiliated with member sport organizations of Sport PEI.

Immigrations Youth - Youth Sport Assistance Program Provided by: Immigrant and Refugee Services Association Prince Edward Island - AKA: IRSA; IRSAPEI; PEIANC (former name); PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada (former name) ; Immigrant & Refugee Services Association

Helps low-income clients apply for external funding to allow children and youth to participate in sports programs in PEI. Also offers a program to loan equipment needed for some organized sports.

Provides equipment to allow members, schools, and service clubs to participate in sports.

e-Bike Incentive Provided by: Government of Prince Edward Island - Department of Land and Environment - AKA: Formerly Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action; Department of Environment, Water and Climate Change

An instant rebate of $500 is available for e-bike purchases that retail from $1,200 (before tax). Rebate is applied at the cash register. One rebate is eligible for residents and up to five rebates for organizations per calendar year.

E-bikes must meet the following conditions:

Electric motor must be 500 watts or less
Two or three wheels that touch the ground
Maximum speed of 32 km/h
Maximum weight of 120kg
All other regulations as set out by the Highway Safety Act

Bicycle Rebate Provided by: Government of Prince Edward Island - Department of Land and Environment - AKA: Formerly Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action; Department of Environment, Water and Climate Change

Provides an instant rebate offered for a bicycle purchase at the cash register of participating retailers. The rebate amount is up to $100 with retail prices from $150 to $2,000 (before tax). Limited to five rebates per transaction.

Eligible types are new and non-powered (i.e. non-electric; powered by rider) bicycles includes:

Children and adult bicycles
Cargo bicycles
Tricycles
