Veterinary Medical Association Complaints and Investigations

Receives and investigates complaints from the public about medical care received by animals from licensed veterinarians in PEI.

Unsightly Properties Complaints

Concerned residents living in jurisdictions that do not have their own unsightly property by-laws can file an unsightly property complaint against properties they think are in violation of the Unsightly Property Act. A department representative will inspect the site.

An unsightly property refers to any property that has dilapidated buildings, derelict vehicles and litter located on the property which is visible to the public.

Telecom and Television Service Complaints

Aims to resolve a wide range of complaints about products and services offered in the telecommunications (telecom) sector, including:

Home phone
Long distance phone services (including prepaid calling cards)
Subscription TV services provided by cable, Internet Protocol television (IPTV), and national satellite direct-to-home (DTH) TV service providers
Wireless phone services (including voice, data, and text)
Wired and wireless internet access services
White page directories, directory assistance, and operator services
Other unregulated retail telecom services (other than those that are excluded from their mandate)

Assists with most types of problems that can arise between a consumer and a service provider, including:

Compliance with contract terms and commitments (but not the contract terms themselves)
Billing disputes and errors (but not the price of the service itself)
Service delivery complaints: Installation, repair or disconnection of service * Quality of the service or unreasonable interruptions to service * Transfers of service from one provider to another
Credit management complaints: Security deposits * Payment arrangements * Collections treatment of customer accounts

RCMP Complaint

Anyone with concerns about the conduct of an RCMP police officer, civilian member or a supernumerary special constable can make a complaint.

No direct involvement in the incident is necessary, complaints can be made on behalf of someone else, or as a witness to an incident.

The RCMP member must have been performing their duties at the time of the conduct concern.

Quality and Patient Safety - Compliments and Complaints

Receives and responds to compliments and complaints from users of PEI's health care system. Submissions can be made online, by phone, or by mail.

Public Service Commission Investigation Request

The public can submit a request for an investigation into irregularities in an appointment process or an allegation of improper political activity.

Police Commissioner Complaint

Helps to file a complaint about officers who breached the Code of Professional Conduct and Discipline. The officers include:

A municipal police officer
A provincial conservation officer
A security police officer of the University of Prince Edward Island
The Chief Officer of any of the above services

Physiotherapists Concerns and Complaints

Manages and responds to concerns and complaints about physiotherapists in PEI.

Physicians and Surgeons Complaints and Investigations

Responds to and investigates complaints from members of the public about doctors licensed by the College to practice medicine in Epekwitk / PEI. Complaints can be about any alleged misconduct.

Pharmacy Complaint

Responds to and investigates complaints from members of the public regarding the practice of a registrant or the operation of a pharmacy in Epekwitk / PEI. Complaints can be a range of professional conduct issues, but excludes the following:

Fees and related financial issues
Billing or money collection problems
Services not related to one's health care needs
Problems caused by one's own inappropriate conduct
