Services that provide assistance and support to people who are experiencing or have survived physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, or other forms of abuse. Includes group programs, one-on-one counselling, crisis lines, online resources, and victim compensation.

Provides a one year combined onsite and outpatient treatment program to children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. The program is offered by a centre specialized in helping children with trauma-informed evidence-based treatment.

Provides a 17-week group session program for fathers who have concerns about their violent acts towards their children or children's mother. Program helps to develop a healthy relationship with them. Violent acts include:

  • Emotionally abusive

The program focuses how to build trust, motivation, awareness, and child-centered parenting practices to find an individual parenting approach.

Note: If a primary concern is perpetration of child sexual abuse, individuals are NOT eligible for the program.

People who are the victim of a crime reported to police may be eligible to receive money to help with eligible expenses or losses. Examples of types of expenses and losses that may be covered include:
  • Lost wages
  • Pain and suffering
  • Medical or dental expenses
  • Financial assistance to assist victims who have a child born as a result of sexual assault
  • Funeral expenses if the crime resulted in a death
Property loss and damage expenses are not eligible.

Provides free confidential support to those who have had a crime committed against them. Includes:
  • Information about case status and the justice system
  • Short-term counseling and emotional support
  • Referrals to supports and services
  • Court preparation
  • Help preparing a victim impact statement or community impact statement
  • Assistance as outlined in the Victims of Family Violence Act
  • Information to help recover financial losses
  • Coordination of services
