Individuals may request a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, often required for employment or volunteering.
  • Criminal Background Check: Uses names and date of birth to check a person's criminal history.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check: Required for applicants who will be in a position of trust or authority over children, the elderly,or other vulnerable group. A name-based search of the national repository of criminal convictions and a query of the pardoned sex-offender database is conducted. Fingerprints may be required.

Police can safely dispose of firearms, ammunition, and flares. Receipts are issued. Items can be dropped off in person or the Police will come to the home to pick-up them up.

A Vulnerable Person is defined as "a person who due to a medical, mental health, or physical condition may exhibit patterns of behavior that may pose a danger to themselves."
