Emergency Shelter for individuals in need of safety because of violence in their lives. Individuals who live at the shelter can access:

  • Safety planning
  • Advocacy
  • Childcare services
  • Follow-up support
  • Referrals to outreach services and second stage housing in locations across PEI
  • Information pertaining to resources such as lawyers, housing, stay away orders, transportation, child care and pet care

Transportation provided free of charge and cost of basic needs such as medication can be covered.

24/7 crisis and support line for people who are or who know someone experiencing any type of violence/abuse

Provides education, support and an opportunity to share experiences in a group setting. Topics include:

  • Liberty
  • Beyond liberty
  • Healthy boundaries
  • Cooking economically
  • Coping skills
  • Mental health and recovery

Available at locations across Epekwitk / PEI.

  • How to clear internet history
  • A video series how to recognize signs of family violence
  • Engaging roles for men and boys
  • Intimate relationships

Confidential support services for individuals who are abused or who are at risk of abuse and those who need education and safety planning surrounding issues of domestic violence. Services include:

  • One-on-one crisis support (in person or by phone)
  • Support groups
  • Risk assessment and safety planning
  • Comprehensive case management
  • Referrals to community agencies to help with individual needs
  • Advocacy and accompaniment to court and other meetings as required
  • Resource information
  • Second stage housing referral at locations across PEI (women only)
