Provides virtual one-on-one tech personalized training and support for individuals with disabilities to enhance digital accessibility. Includes:
- Learn about accessible technologies with the help of a specialist
- Learn about digital fundamentals
- Learn about digital skills and job readiness
Two annual $500 awards for post-secondary education.
Provides four to six $1000 annual scholarships to blind, deafblind and partially sighted students. Details are confirmed each year.
Application opens in March every year.
Provides multiple scholarships and bursaries to support individuals who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision to cover post-secondary studies. By Submitting an application, applicants will automatically considered for any eligible scholarships based on the criteria.
Note: A similar delivery service is available for Community Care Facilities. Facility administration must contact PEI Public Library Service Headquarters to register for this program on behalf of residents.
One-on-one math tutoring for students with diagnosed or undiagnosed learning disabilities, including dyscalculia or general difficulty with math. The program is tailored to each student's individual math ability level.
Online training for vision accessibility features on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Topics include:
- Low vision
- VoiceOver
- Calls, texts, emails
- Siri
- Web browsing
- Writing
- Seeing Artificial Intelligence (AI) app
Learning platform is provided by Hadley Institute.
Provides an Equine Assisted Learning Program that is run by a certified equine assisted learning facilitator.
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a therapeutic and educational approach that involves interactions between humans and horses to facilitate personal growth and learning.
Participants engage in objectively driven exercises that are developed to encourage self-esteem and learning valuable life skills through hands-on experiences while working with horses.
Provides operational reading, writing, and math skills according to individualized developmental levels. This component directly correlates with community inclusion and volunteer opportunities. Individuals could practice skills in-house prior to going out into the community.
