Provides post-adoption supports for adult adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents that may include non-identifying and identifying information, health history, active searches, and registration on the Post Adoption registry. Services available vary by affected party. See website for details.

PEI has open adoption records which means that adoptees, 18 years or older, have the ability to access specific identifying information contained in their original birth registration, including their birth name and identify of their birth parents. Birth parents can access the name of their birth child once the child is 19 years old.

Parties involved in adoptions that were finalized before January 31, 2020 can file a disclosure veto that stops the release of identifying information.

Contact preferences for involved parties can also be filed.
