  • Name-based Criminal Background Check: Uses names and date of birth to check a person's criminal history
  • Certified Criminal Background Check: Uses fingerprints when a name-based criminal record checks do not provide a definite way of confirming a person's identity
  • Police Information Check: Also known as police certificate, background check, or reference check
  • Vulnerable Sector Check: Police information check plus a check to see if a person has a record suspension (pardon) for sexual offenses
