Properties in Epekwitk / PEI are required by law to have a civic address so that emergency responders can locate them if 9-1-1 is called. People with properties outside of specific municipalities who do not have a civic address assigned must apply to the Province to receive one. This only applies to properties/buildings that already exist but do not have a civic address; new buildings will be assigned a civic address during the building permit process.
