Provides funds to assist kidney patients and their family members to further their education and/or training. Four awards of $500 each may rewarded every year to an individual a maximum of two times.

Application tentatively closes in July each year.

Note: Cheques will be made out directly to post-secondary institutions on behalf of the recipient.

Offers a week-long residential camp that allows children with kidney disease the opportunity to meet and socialize with others sharing a similar experience. Activities may include:

  • Information about available services within the health care system and how to access them
  • Assistance finding and accessing other community supports and resources

Provides virtual peer support groups to connect with others who live with or are affected by kidney disease, caregivers and their family members. There are many groups for specific needs or stages. Includes:

  • Open group (A monthly meeting to discuss a variety of topics of interest)
  • Transplant and living donors meeting
  • Reduced kidney function meeting
  • Caregivers meeting
  • Pediatric caregivers meeting
  • Home hemodialysis meeting
  • Living with glomerulonephritis meeting and more

Provides online resources about kidney health and disease. Includes:

  • Educational materials of kidney disease resources (Hospital dialysis units, factsheets and more)
  • Mental health 101 virtual library (Informative presentation by health professionals)
  • Kidney community kitchen (Tips and information about a kidney diet, dietitian's blog, cooking demonstration videos, meal planner, recipes and more)
  • Living with kidney failure handbook (How to plan treatment options)
  • Living with reduced kidney function handbook (How to protect kidneys and maintain kidney health)

Provides one-on-one peer support for Individuals with or affected by kidney disease. Participants will be paired with volunteers who have first-hand experience coping with kidney disease.
