    Provides free service dogs to young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The dogs help reduce stress and anxiety, help with socialization and language skills, and improve sleep.

    A seven day training course is required to be completed, beginning with an evaluation of the youth's needs and interest in the dog. All training is done in Quebec. Accommodations and meals are provided. Parental involvement at the training is required 24 hours a day.

    Service Description

    Provides free service dogs to young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The dogs help reduce stress and anxiety, help with socialization and language skills, and improve sleep.

    Eligibility:The youth with ASD must:
    -Be between ags 5-21 years
    -B showing an interest in dogs;
    -Have significant needs at home and when going out(For example, they have needs that cannot be met by a companion dog)
    -Demonstrate certain skills related to the management of a dog or have the potential to acquire the required skills
    -Be a resident of Canada

    How to Access:Download the medical report form from the website, have a doctor complete it and then email the application
    Documents Required:Recent ASD diagnosis evaluation report competed by the youth's doctor
