Provides a two-week summer transformational opportunity for youth with sight loss to learn and develop skills for their academic and job-seeking goals. Includes:

  • Leadership skill
  • Independence skill
  • Pre-employment skill
  • Social skills
  • Connecting with like-minded peers
  • Educational activities such as visiting restaurants and local attractions

Takes place in Toronto and all expenses are paid.

Provides day programs for individuals with intellectual and/or dual disabilities to build functional and vocational skills and prepare for employment. Opportunities include:

  • Vocational training/day supports
  • Training and working in the Kingswood Centre bakery/catering business
  • Training and working in the Kingswood Centre woodshop
  • Taking part in functional skills development opportunities such as community placements, seasonal projects, recycling, wellness programs, and life enrichment activities (pending availability)

Provides employment support to assist individuals with disabilities on the job site. A job coach helps individuals both inside and outside of the workplace, giving them the benefit from specific training to help them learn what to expect in the work environment.

Supports may include:

  • Help learn skills related to performing specific job tasks
  • Help to learn interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace
  • Help to connect participants with resources to successfully perform their job
  • Help to identify the tasks that make up an individual's job
  • Help to develop strategies to learn a job

This service may be provided from a few days to several months, depending on the needs of the individual, and is intended to fade with time.

Assists people with disabilities with their job search and related issues. Includes:

  • Career decision making
  • Skills enhancement (helps individuals identify and apply for education and training and find appropriate funding)
  • Job search
  • Making contact with employers
  • Ongoing assistance for the employee and employer
  • Assistance with Abilities@Work which provides wage subsidies for employers that hire eligible participants

  • Pre-Employment - Developing essential workplace skills: communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving
  • Resume and Interview Prep - Creating resumes, completing job applications, and practicing interview techniques
  • Job Search Assistance - Identifying job opportunities, filling applications, and using search engines
  • On-the-Job Support - Providing job coaching and training to help clients adjust and meet employer expectations
  • Work Placements - Connecting clients with businesses for paid employment, work trials, or volunteer experiences
  • Ongoing Support - Offering guidance, problem-solving, and advocating for inclusive hiring practices
  • Drop-in Day - Life and Employability Skills program, Monday through Friday

Day services are offered at two locations in Summerside and are aimed at improving clients' quality of life. Services can include respite, personal care, developing work and employment skills, and developing friendships.

Water Street West: Services focus on clients accessing the community for various development opportunities, leisure and recreation, and other related activities.

340 Court Street: Provides an employment outreach program with a primary focus on skills training and access to meaningful and independent employment.
