Eligibility:
Applicants must be registered under the Indian Act * Non-registered applicants can now apply for both registration and a secure status card at the same time

How to Access:
Application forms are available on the website * Application forms can also be requested by mail, by calling the toll free number, or in person at any Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) or Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) regional office Some First Nations are still issuing Certificates of Indian Status (status cards). If your First Nation does, fill out the Application for Certificate of Indian Status and apply in person to the Indian Registration Administrator of your First Nation office. If you have any questions, call the toll free number or contact your First Nation office.
