    Provides up to 26 weeks of financial assistance for individuals who cannot work for medical reasons. The benefits pay 55% of earnings up to a maximum weekly amount.

    Products specifications
    Eligibility:Eligible applicants must demonstrate below aspects:

    -Unable to work for medical reasons
    -Regular weekly earnings from work have decreased by more than 40% for at least 1 week
    -Have accumulated 600 insured hours of work in the 52 weeks before the start of your claim or since the start of your last claim, whichever is shorter
    Fees:No fees
    How to Access:Apply online
    Documents Required:A medical certificate that attests to the incapacity, the start date, the probable duration of the incapacity and signed by a doctor or other medical practitioner * Dates (Sunday to Saturday) and earnings for each of the highest paid weeks of insurable earnings in the last 52 weeks or since the start of the last EI claim, whichever is the shorter period * See website for details of supporting information required
