People wishing to become foster parents for children ages 0-17 years who are in the care of Child and Family Services can apply to do so. Foster Parent Information Sessions are held regularly for those wanting to learn more and upcoming sessions are listed on the website.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
-Be age 21 years or older
-Have resided in PEI for at least six months and plan to stay in PEI for at least two years
-Be financially stable
-Have adequate housing with a private bedroom for a foster child
-Be able to meet assessment criteria including criminal record and child protection record checks
